Football: Nick Severs and Northwestern

by 2013 Football Class

Three-star 2013 guard Nick Severs would like to take another trip to Northwestern, as he like the university after leaving the school in each of his past visits with a good feeling afterwards. Severs is a lower-line three-star recruit, and the interesting thing is that the Wildcats have not offered him yet.

Nick Severs currently holds six offers from Illinois State, Ball State, Missouri State, Western Illinois, Western Michigan, and Cincinnati. Major programs such as Duke, Iowa, Missouri, Minnesota, Northwestern, Indiana, West Virginia, Illinois, Iowa State, Purdue, and Wisconsin are interested, and Severs recently camped with the Hawkeyes.

The Big Ten target’s recruitment is wide open at this point, and some say a major program will offer soon; likely Northwestern. At this point, WVU’s interest has been limited. Western Michigan has been targeting Severs pretty heavily, but the major programs that have shown a significant amount of interest are Iowa, Illinois, Wisconsin, Purdue, Northwestern, and Indiana. Of those teams, in-state program Illinois, Iowa State, and Iowa have been contacting him multiple times each week.

The Macomb High star in Macomb, Illinois is 6’4″, 250 pounds and is one of the top 75 guards in the 2013 class. He is one of the top 40 recruits in the state of Illinois in the 2013 class and is a rising recruit among Big Ten circles. Nick Severs likes Northwestern, and it will be interesting to see if the Wildcats offer him and when he schedules another visit there.
