Four-star South Carolina wide receiver Mike Williams is down to two in-state schools, which isn’t surprising to those who have followed his recruitment. The common thought is that he would pick a team in South Carolina, and he has done just that.
Mike Williams is down to the two elite programs in South Carolina and Clemson. It seems like he is a better fit with the Gamecocks after strong performances there.
The Lake Marion WR is one of the most talented wideouts in the 2013 class. He has developed a good early rapport with SC QB commit Connor Mitch. Mike Williams has also been in close contact with wide receivers coach Steve Spurrier Jr. and will come to a decision between South Carolina and Clemson at the end of the month.
The premier four-star wideout would be a huge catch for either school, as he is a big fish in the state. Clemson will want to gain ground against the Gamecocks who have the second best 2013 class to only Michigan. Williams would further bolster Spurrier’s ’13 class.
