2013 point guard Will Ferguson has named West Virginia as the leaders in his recruitment according to Josh Paunil on Twitter. The three-star Arlington, Virginia standout is one of the top five recruits in the state and a top 40 PG overall.

Will Ferguson has received offers from George Mason, Massachusetts, Rutgers, Seton Hall, and Virginia have offered the Team Takeover point. Florida, Miami, Maryland, Georgetown, Pittsburgh, Villanova, Virginia Tech, and Xavier have also shown interest in Ferguson.

The prized in-state recruit has received more interest from the Cavaliers than the Mountaineers in his recruitment, and it will be interesting to see if WVU offers Ferguson due to this development.

The 6’0″, 160 pound Herndon High star has visited Pitt and is regarded for his quickness, above-average handles, and great scoring ability. Will Ferguson is a top scoring point guard with a solid jumper and great driving ability.

Overall, Ferguson is an average three-star recruit with good upside because of his ability to put up points and drive, but one scout told me that he doesn’t view Ferguson as a true point guard. He is a D-I prospect for sure but might not be a starting player at West Virginia.
