According to a tweet from Brian Perroni, Virginia Tech and Washington have offered 2014 four-star offensive tackle Andy Bauer, who is currently committed to the Missouri Tigers. The St. Louis standout is the best recruit in the state, a top ten tackle overall, and one of the top 75 recruits in the 2014 class per 247Sports. Bauer was a huge catch for Missouri, and two major programs have decided to offer Bauer to see if they can ever pry him away from the Tigers.
Andy Bauer has a lot to offer to the SEC newcomers, and quite a bit of teams know it. Just take a look at all the offers he has garnered already. Alabama, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Boston College, Florida State, Illinois, LSU, Miami, Maryland, Michigan, Ole Miss, Mississippi State, Nebraska, UNC, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma State, Tennessee, Texas A&M, Vanderbilt, Virginia, and West Virginia have all offered him. USC, Oregon, and Oklahoma are three other major programs to have shown interest.
That right there is 24 offers that don’t include the two recent ones, along with the additional offer that Missouri gave to Bauer. He is easily one of the top 100 recruits in this class and a big-name four-star recruit in 2014. He has been committed to the Tigers since April.
One thing to note, and this makes the two recent offers all the more interesting, is that while Andy Bauer is still committed to Missouri, he wants to look around and feels that he needs to look at more schools. Bauer committed to the Tigers rather quickly, and he realizes that there is still more time in the process. Bauer is a terrific blocker in both phases of the game, and the offers just keep rolling in for the prized Mizzou commit.
