2015 Big man, Levi Cook, has learned to use his size and strength to his advantage exceptionally. At 6’10” and 295 lbs he has the ability to out muscle players and rebound over smaller players with his height advantage. Over the summer he has worked hard on getting quicker and slimming down to improve his mobility.
The West Virginia product
has many strengths but excels in his lost post moves and rebounding down low. He knows how to use his body to help him in different facets of the game and it is paying off. Often Levi can draw a 2nd defender onto himself when there is a mismatch and this helps open up the floor for his teammates. If Levi can improve his quickness and ability to run the floor he would be an even greater challenge to defend. Levi would like to compare his game to Shaq and that is definitely a good place to set your sights.
Right now Levi is holding offers from three schools: West Virginia, Marshall, and Northern Kentucky. West Virginia has pursued him the hardest and may have the advantage of being his home state school.
Levi has drawn interest from all over the country including Notre Dame, Georgetown, Minnesota, Miami (FL), Oklahoma, Michigan, UCLA, Florida, Maryland, Pittsburg, Ohio State, and Virginia Tech.
West Virginia is currently leading the pack but Levi also really likes Ohio State and Virginia Tech. There is still a lot of time left for him to look at schools and he is no rush. Levi looks to take visits to Virginia Tech, Ohio State, West Virginia, and Marshall. He has already visited West Virginia and Ohio State unofficially.
Don’t expect Levi to make a decision any time soon but he says his dream is to have his decision broadcasted on ESPN, choosing between a few schools. If his recruitment keeps up at this pace Levi will have plenty of schools to choose from.
