2014 strong-side defensive end Da’Shawn Hand made the trip to Ann Arbor on March 14th to unofficially visit the Michigan Wolverines this weekend.
He has offers from thirty-eight teams. The teams to have offered at him include: Michigan, Virginia Tech, Alabama, Florida, South Carolina, Arizona State, Arkansas, Auburn, Baylor, Boise State, Boston College, Duke, Florida State, Georgia, Georgia Tech, Illinois, LSU, Maryland, Miami (FL), Michigan State, North Carolina, North Carolina State, Nebraska, Notre Dame, Ohio State, Oklahoma, Penn State, Pittsburgh, Rutgers, South Florida, Stanford, Syracuse, Tennessee, USC, Vanderbilt, Clemson, Virginia, and West Virginia.
Also, he has not received offers, but is receiving interest from the Oregon Ducks.
Hand is a 6’5″, 247 pound strong-side defensive end from Woodbridge, Virginia. He is currently a junior at Woodbridge High School.
The Woodbridge Vikings made it to the VHSL (6) State Playoffs. However, they lost to the Battlefield Bobcats, 0-17, in the first round.
As a junior in 2012, Hand recorded 78 tackles, 40 tackles-for-loss, sixteen sacks, and three forced fumbles.
He was named first-team All-American by 247Sports on February 10th.
The five-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of Virginia, 1st among strong-side defensive ends, and 1st nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
