Football Recruiting: Dylan Thompson Commits to Ohio State

After traveling to Columbus, Ohio on March 22nd, three-star 2014 strong-side defensive end Dylan Thompson verbally committed to the Ohio State Buckeyes on March 23rd. He became the fifth recruit from the Class of 2014 to verbally commit to OSU. Thompson joins recruits: Marcelys Jones, Kyle Trout, Parris Campbell, and Damon Webb.

The Lombard, Illinois recruit had received offers from the Ohio State Buckeyes, Arkansas Razorbacks, Clemson Tigers, Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers, Iowa Hawkeyes, Iowa State Cyclones, Missouri Tigers, Ole Miss Rebels, Purdue Boilermakers  Syracuse Orange, Tennessee Volunteers, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

Dylan Thompson was generating both interest and offers from Big Ten teams. Eight Big Ten teams have showed interest in him and five of them offered at him.

He did have visits scheduled with the Michigan State Spartans (March 30th) and Wisconsin Badgers (April 13th). Michigan State and Wisconsin had not offered at Thompson.

Thompson is a 6’5″, 270 pound from Lombard, Illinois. He is currently a junior at Montini Catholic High School.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 12th in the state of Illinois and 17th among strong-side defensive ends by 247Sports.
