2014 offensive guard Najee Toran is a high-end three-star prospect from Houston, Texas, and he was in town yesterday taking in the junior day festivities at the Houston Cougars campus. In fact, he received an offer from one of his topic schools, as the Houston staff handed Toran the fourth offer of his recruitment. The Boise State Broncos, TCU Horned Frogs, and Oregon State Beavers are three other programs that have offered Toran.
He has received plenty of interest from major programs, with the Nebraska Cornhuskers, Texas Longhorns, and Texas A&M Aggies. He is high on all four school that have offered him, as well as those three aforementioned big schools that have yet to offer him. Toran is ranked by 247Sports as the 60th best player in the state of Texas, so the Longhorns and Aggies should have their eyes fixed closely on the Houston standout.
Najee Toran has attended junior day at the three other in-state schools he likes in TCU, Texas, and A&M. The Horned Frogs actually offered Toran during his junior day visit there back in late February, but the two powerhouses were more selective with their offers. It seems like Texas is the better bet to offer sooner, because Toran did camp there back in June.
Ranked by the 247Composite as the 525th best player in the nation, the North Shore High standout is definitely in my list of top thirty guards in the country and is getting the offers and in-state interest to prove it. Toran, who also plays tight end and defensive tackle, is definitely a prospect that fans of Texas schools need to keep a close eye on.
