Fansided 150 CB Parrker Westphal Will Visit Vanderbilt This Weekend

2014 has been an already eventful year for FanSided 150 cornerback, Parrker Westphal. The junior from Bolingbrook, IL has taken unofficial visits to Northwestern, Michigan State and Michigan. After receiving an offer just two weeks ago, the 6′ 190 pound defensive back knows where he’s headed next.

This weekend, Parrker will spend some time getting familiar with the Vanderbilt campus.

Westphal holds offers from 10 of the 12 Big Ten (bad math?) teams, as well as Florida, Notre Dame, West Virginia and others, but coach Franklin and his Vanderbilt Commodores shouldn’t be taken lightly any more. Vandy has hauled in a few superb recruiting classes and Parrker Westphal holds education high on his list of priorities, as evidenced by his multiple visits to Northwestern.

In the last few months, he’s hosted the Michigan Wolverines and Michigan State Spartans on visits to his school. He also took in games at Soldier Field (ND-Miami), Michigan and Ohio State, plus a few others. Stating the obvious, Parrker is enjoying the recruitment process.

Vanderbilt is a little late to the party and will likely have an uphill battle, but the fact that they’re able to get Westphal on campus just a couple weeks after they offered him could be telling.

Parrker Westphal is ranked 145th on the FanSided 150.
