Texas Football Recruiting: Arizona offers Arrion Springs

2014 four-star cornerback Arrion Springs is one of the top 250 recruits in the nation, and he received another major offer yesterday from the Arizona Wildcats. Springs is a top target for the Texas Longhorns, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Oklahoma Sooners, Texas Tech Red Raiders, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Baylor Bears. He is also high on the Florida Gators and Oregon Ducks, but neither power outside of the Midlands has offered him.

Springs is firmly entrenched as one of the best 25 cornerbacks in the nation, and he is ranked by the 247Composite as the 29th best player in the state of Texas. He would be a huge catch for the in-state schools (Texas, Texas Tech, and Baylor) that he is currently high on, and the Longhorns have the second highest rated recruiting class behind the rival Texas A&M Aggies. The big school in College Station has yet to show interest in the San Antonio CB.

The Arizona Wildcats join their bitter rivals, the Arizona State Sun Devils, as teams to have offered Arrion Springs. The Kansas Jayhawks, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Oregon State Beavers have also offered the Roosevelt High standout who runs a sub-4.5 forty. USC, TCU, and LSU are also interested, per 247Sports.

Last week, Springs had a busy weekend with in-state unofficial visits to Austin and Waco. The former visit saw Springs receive a major offer from Texas, but even the Longhorns will have a tough time battling for the services of the four-star DB.

Arizona currently has three commitments in the 2014 class, with one of them at the cornerback position in elite four-star guy Cameron Denson, who is the top in-state recruit (Arizona) and checks in at 46th in our FanSided 150 rankings.
