2014 three-star running back and linebacker recruit Taiwan Deal has received a couple of recent offers from the Big Ten, as the Wisconsin Badgers offered Deal yesterday following a Purdue Boilermakers offer on Friday. The DeMatha Catholic standout is Scout.com’s 55th rated running back recruit in the 2014 class, while 247Sports slots him in as a top 50 outside linebacker recruit.
Taiwan Deal has also received offers from UMass, the Boston College Eagles, Maryland Terrapins, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, West Virginia Mountaineers, Vanderbilt Commodores, Michigan State Spartans, Connecticut Huskies, Iowa Hawkeyes, and Tennessee Volunteers in his recruitment thus far.
Ranked by the 247Composite as the 620th best player in the country, Deal is firmly in the top 20 among in-state recruits and has a solid list of offers that includes major schools like WVU, Tennessee, Michigan State, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Vandy. It will be interesting to see if some of the huge interested schools- such as Ohio State and Florida State- decide to send in offers for the 6’2″, 225 pound RB.
Wisconsin was long rumored to be a school that would offer Deal in the near future, and they proved some of those prognosticators correct with an offer yesterday. The Badgers have now offered five prospects in the state of Maryland.
Deal has unofficially visited the North Carolina Tar Heels and West Virginia in his recruitment, with his last visit being his only junior day trip that was with the Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets earlier this month.
