Terrell Cuney had received offers from the Texas Longhorns, TCU Horned Frogs, and Texas Tech Red Raiders. Cuney had attended Texas’ Junior Day on February 23rd and named the Longhorns his leader on February 17th.

On February 21st, Cuney was asked if he would be committing to Texas anytime soon and he said that he’d like to “keep his options open.”

Cuney decided that being in town for the Longhorns’ spring game was the right time and place to make his commitment. When asked about the verbal commitment to Texas, he said:

I’ve been waiting for when it felt right and today it felt right. (Source: 247Sports)

Cuney is a 6’3″, 258 pound from Jasper, Texas. He is currently a junior at Jasper High School.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 29th in the state of Texas and 1st among centers by 247Sports.
