Michigan Set For Big Recruiting Weekend

The Michigan Wolverines have come out of the gate hot with three of their four 2014 commitments ranked in the FanSided 150. QB Wilton Speight joins OG Mason Cole (91), LB Michael Ferns (99) and DT Bryan Mone (104) to form one of the best classes in this young cycle. This weekend, head coach Brady Hoke will hope to keep the ball rolling this weekend when Ann Arbor hosts three more FanSided 150 players.

Running back/cornerback/all-around-stud Jabrill Peppers will be on hand to take in all that the U of M has to offer. Jabrill is currently ranked 5th in the FS150 and holds offers from just about every school in the country. OK, maybe only half of them, but you get the point. He is being recruited as a corner by some schools, a running back by others and some schools have offered him a chance to play both offense and defense if he commits to their team. As far as athleticism goes, there may not be another player in this class that compares to the dynamic Peppers.

Joining Jabrill will be FanSided 150 offensive linemen JaMarco Jones (55) and Sam Mustipher (111).

JaMarco, a 6’5″ 300 pound tackle out of Chicago, holds offers from all over the country, including Oklahoma, Florida, Notre Dame and Northwestern. He has admitted that he is high on Michigan, who have also offered him.

Depending on the school he chooses, the 6’4″ 280 pound Mustipher grades out well enough to play on either side of the ball. Because of his height, this Maryland native projects as more of a guard on offense and a tackle on defense. Much like Jones and Peppers, Sam’s offer sheet is staggering and includes all the big names. Along with Michigan, Mustipher has visits lined up this month with both Notre Dame and Ohio State.

Each of these players are expected to take their time with the recruiting process, making it unlikely that they’ll pull the trigger and commit this weekend. However, this Michigan staff has done an amazing job of getting kids to visit, then getting them to fall in love with the campus. Hoke and the Wolverines hope to take a big step  toward locking down some of the top talent in the country.
