LSU Football Recruiting: Trey Quinn visits Ole Miss

The Mississippi Rebels will be hosting one of the top wide receivers in the country today and tomorrow in four-star Barbe High standout Trey Quinn, who is one of the most heavily recruited players in the country. A reported LSU Tigers lean, Quinn is also high on the Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ole Miss, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Clemson Tigers, Texas Tech Red Raiders, and Texas Longhorns.

Quinn is one of the top ten recruits in the state of Louisiana, so the LSU connection is strong. He visited LSU late last month, and it will be interesting to see how soon he schedules a return visit. With the Rebels being heavily in the mix, expect this two-day visit to be a crucial early visit in his recruitment. This is a great chance for Hugh Freeze to make an impression of Oxford upon the four-star WR, and Freeze would undoubtedly love to land the recruit who checks in at exactly 100 in our FanSided150 rankings.

The 6’1″, 200 pound receiver also has offers from the Texas A&M Aggies, Nebraska Cornhuskers, California Golden Bears, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Cincinnati Bearcats, Auburn Tigers, Arizona State Sun Devils, Mississippi State Bulldogs, and Duke Blue Devils. The Alabama Crimson Tide are also interested, and it will be interesting to see if they try to make it harder for the rival Tigers to lock up one of the top prospects in Louisiana.

Trey Quinn has blazing speed with a sub-4.4 forty time, and he has the upside to be a feature receiver at the pro level. The top 100 recruit is a consensus top 15 prospect at the wide receiver position, and he had an absolutely ridiculous junior season. Quinn hauled in 111 passes for an astounding 2,094 yards and 26 touchdowns. Those are mind-blowing numbers, and it’s crazy to think that Quinn has had over 1,000 receiving yards in each of his three seasons in high school. Want to know how fast and athletic he is? He rushed for 11 touchdowns and had nearly 500 rushing yards on just 35 carries as a sophomore. Yeah, that’s why he made 247Sports’s Second Team All-American squad.

Ole Miss needs to make a big impression on this supremely talented wide receiver, because Trey Quinn is tabbed by pretty much every recruiting expert to go to LSU.
