Virginia Tech Football Recruiting: Da'Shawn Hand to Attend South Carolina Junior Day

The best recruit in the FanSided150 rankings, Da’Shawn Hand, will travel to South Carolina in order to attend the South Carolina Gamecocks’ Junior Day today. It looks like the Virginia native is leaning towards Michigan and Virginia Tech at this point in time.

The teams to have offered at Hand are the Michigan Wolverines, Virginia Tech Hokies, Alabama Crimson Tide, Florida Gators, South Carolina Gamecocks, Arizona State Sun Devils, Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Baylor Bears, Boise State Broncos, Boston College Eagles, Duke Blue Devils, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Illinois Fighting Illini, LSU Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Maryland Terrapins, Michigan State Spartans, North Carolina State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Penn State Nittany Lions, Pittsburgh Panthers, Rutgers Scarlet Knights, South Florida Bulls, Stanford Cardinals, Syracuse Orange, Tennessee Volunteers, USC Trojans, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

The teams in which Hand seems to be leaning toward are Michigan and VT, but Alabama, Florida, and South Carolina are not far behind those two. The only teams Hand has no interest in are Clemson, Virginia, and West Virginia.

If the Gamecocks can impressed the best recruit, then they could make some ground in the race for this prospect.

Hand was named All-Met by the Washington Post on December 15th and named a first-team All-American by 247Sports on February 10th. He is also a 2014 U.S. Army All-American Bowl selection and 2014 Under Armour All-American Game selection.

As a junior in 2012, he recorded 78 tackles, 40 tackles-for-loss, sixteen sacks, and three forced fumbles.
