The last two visits that Myles Garrett has taken have been to the Baylor Bears, and he took an unofficial trip to Waco yesterday. Garrett is high on the Oklahoma Sooners, TCU Horned Frogs, and the Texas A&M Aggies, with Texas A&M looking like the team to beat in his recruitment. Baylor has made quite the push, and Garrett has received quite the number of major offers in his recruitment. The 2014 weak-side defensive end is one of the top prospects in the country, and he checks in at 59th in our FanSided150 recruiting rankings.
Garrett has also received offers from the Arkansas Razorbacks, Alabama Crimson Tide, LSU Tigers, Texas Longhorns, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Miami Hurricanes, Minnesota Golden Gophers, and Michigan Wolverines. The Oregon Ducks have also showed interest in the elite DE prospect.
Baylor is hoping to keep up in the recruitment of the high-end four-star recruit, and the James Martin High standout in Arlington, Texas looks like a prospect who will commit to a school in the state. The 247Composite ranks Garrett as the seventh best recruit in the state of Texas, and the Aggies are really keying in on the star pass rusher in this class. If he does play outside of the state of Texas, then the Sooners would almost certainly be his call if he goes that route.
TCU figures to also play a heavy role in his recruitment, and Baylor and Texas are trying hard to chomp at the bit. But Texas A&M is going extremely hard after Myles Garrett, and I really think we’ll see the nation’s second-best WDE in the 247Composite playing in College Station.
