2014 four-star outside linebacker Jacob Pugh is one of the top 250 recruits in the country, and he is a big target for the Florida State Seminoles. Pugh lives in the city of Tallahassee, and Florida State has a great chance to keep the top linebacker prospect within the walls of the capital. The four-star OLB has taken several unofficial visits to FSU in his recruitment, and he took yet another one yesterday. That means Pugh has visited Florida State three times this month, as he visited them on the first and the tenth of the month. Pugh also took a trip to Gainesville to check out the rival Florida Gators earlier this month, and Pugh also checked in with the Vanderbilt Commodores.
Florida State, Vanderbilt, and the Alabama Crimson Tide are the three teams that have the best chance of landing Pugh. After that, the Gators, Georgia Bulldogs, and Kentucky Wildcats are also heavily in the mix. FSU is the only non-SEC team with a high chance of landing the prized linebacker recruit, and they might have the best chance of landing him too. Pugh attended junior days at Alabama, Kentucky, and Florida State, and he actually received his offer from Jimbo Fisher and the ‘Noles on a junior day visit.
One of the top 25 outside linebackers in the nation, the 247Composite rates the star at the prestigious Amos P. Godby as the 33rd-best recruit in the state of Florida. Jacob Pugh is 6’4″, 216 pounds and once had the North Carolina Tar Heels as the leaders in his recruitment way back in the past. Since then, Pugh has seen his recruitment blow up on the SEC scale, and he is honing in on the teams listed above after receiving a huge amount of offers.
Rivals.com lists Alabama, Florida State, and Florida as the top three teams in Pugh’s recruitment, so different services will give you different information on who leads. Right now, it looks like all those teams above have a great chance. It’s still incredible to think how far Pugh’s recruitment has comes, and it really wasn’t too long ago since UNC was in the lead.
The Miami Hurricanes, Mississippi State Bulldogs, USC Trojans, South Carolina Gamecocks, USF Bulls, Penn State Nittany Lions, Wake Forest Demon Deacons, Mississippi Rebels, and Tennessee Volunteers have all offered Jacob Pugh. According to 247Sports, Pugh has eliminated N.C. State, East Carolina, and TCU in his recruitment.
