Georgia Football Recruiting: Kentavius Street visits East Carolina

The East Carolina Pirates are set to host a multitude of talented recruits today for their spring game, and 2014 four-star strong-side defensive end Kentavius Street is one of the headliners. The Georgia Bulldogs lean has been tabbed by all four 247Sports analysts who made predictions to pick Georgia as his college school. Street is also high on the Clemson Tigers, Florida State Seminoles, Alabama Crimson Tide, and Virginia Tech Hokies. However, Alabama has yet to offer Street, but an offer from the Tide would make things very interesting for fellow SEC heavyweight Georgia. Alabama seems to be showing high interest in Street, though, so be on the lookout for an offer from ‘Bama in the near future.

Kentavius Street has also received offers from the Duke Blue Devils, East Carolina Pirates, Florida Gators, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, North Carolina Tar Heels, North Carolina State Wolfpack, Louisville Cardinals, Tennessee Volunteers, and Maryland Terrapins.

It’s easy for Street to visit East Carolina, because he lives in Greenville- the same city as the university. Although he almost certainly would be going to a bigger school, the fact that he is continuing to visit East Carolina is solid for the Pirates program. In our FanSided150 rankings, Street checks in as the 87th-best recruit in the country. East Carolina, by the way, hosted Street on a junior day visit earlier in his recruitment.

According to the 247Composite, Street is worth a five-star rating and is the best recruit in the state of North Carolina. He is also rated by the 247Composite as the 27th-best prospect in the country overall and one of the top five strong-side defensive ends to boot. Street is just a monster, because he has ridiculous strength and showed his prowess with a whopping 19.5 tackles for loss last season for J.H. Rose.

The Florida State Seminoles are probably the closest team to Georgia in landing the 6’3″, 262 pound DE, and it will be interesting to see when he schedules a trip to FSU. Last week, the Georgia native had a big visit at Virginia Tech last week. Kentavius Street has immense strength, a solid frame, better-than-you-might-think quickness, and excellent athleticism. He is an incredibly disruptive presence on the defensive line, and all eyes are on Street whenever he takes a visit.
