Purdue Basketball Recruiting: Florida State offers Tyler Ulis

2014 four-star point guard Tyler Ulis received an offer from the Florida State Seminoles yesterday, and this gives the top 150 recruit exactly ten offers thus far. The Chicago-area prospect has had a busy April, and Ulis is starting to burst onto the scene as a star for Marian Catholic with some excellent handles.

Ulis has received offers from Florida State, the Purdue Boilermakers, the Iowa Hawkeyes, the Vanderbilt Commodores, the Oregon State Beavers, Northern Illinois, Loyola Chicago, DePaul, Dayton, and Illinois Chicago. He is heavily recruited in the state of Illinois and has received plenty of looks as yet another star in the Chicago high school hoops scene.

The 247Composite ranks Tyler Ulis as the 11th-best recruit in the state of Illinois in this class, as well as the 37th-best point guard in the country. Ulis visited Iowa back in February, and his Big Ten interest gave him a huge offer at the beginning of this month from Purdue. Just over a week after receiving an offer from Purdue, Ulis visited the Boilermakers on the 11th.

Three days ago, the Vanderbilt Commodores became the first team from the SEC to offer Ulis, and he now has an SEC offer after yesterday’s offer from the Florida State Seminoles. This offer from FSU is the biggest one in Ulis’s recruitment, and it will be interesting to see how much interest the four-star point guard has in Florida State.

Even though he is just 5’8″, 150 pounds, Ulis deserves to be entrenched as a top 150 recruit due to his point guard mentality. He is truly a pass-first player and has absolutely nasty handles. Ulis possesses a wicked good crossover, and he is one of the best passers in the class with some nice scoring moves to boot. Watch for the interest and offers to continue to pour in for this talented 2014 PG.
