If the Michigan Wolverines decide to offer 2015 athlete Jerome Baker, then another recruiting battle between the bitter Big Ten rivals in the Ohio State Buckeyes and Michigan Wolverines would brew. Baker is one of the most highly touted recruits in the 2015 class, and he already has several major offers to prove it. Although he has no leans at this point in time since it is very early, it is telling that three 247Sports experts have made their predictions and that all three of them believe that Baker is headed to Ohio State. Baker is from Cleveland, so that is certainly in Ohio State’s favor.
Michigan has not offered Baker yet, but today’s unofficial visit is very notable. The Wolverines could always offer Baker in the future, or even in the very near future if they like how things are going. The interest from Michigan seems to be increasing, because they sent a coach to check in on Baker at the end of April.
The 6’1″, 205 pound Benedictine star currently has offers from the Penn State Nittany Lions, Ohio State Buckeyes, Louisville Cardinals, Illinois Fighting Illini, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, and Florida Gators. With interest from the Georgia Bulldogs, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Wisconsin Badgers, and Arizona Wildcats, expect more high profile offers to come in for Baker. It is, of course, early, but this is one 2015 recruit to keep very close tabs on.
Baker has seen his recruitment explode recently, as the 4.54-speed ATH added at least five offers late in the month of April. Michigan could very well be the next big school to offer, so we’ll be paying attention to this visit closely. He has the total-package as a recruit and could be ticketed for the outside linebacker position, but his speed also looks great at the running back position. Ohio State was the first program to offer, and thus Urban Meyer is in an even better standing with the elite prospect.
