2014 four-star offensive tackle Casey Tucker is one of the most talented prospects in the nation, and he decommitted from the USC Trojans on the 21st of April after being committed to the school since July of last year. The day he was offered by USC, Tucker named the storied program his leaders and committed to Lane Kiffin and the Trojans within a week after the offer. Now, the Michigan State Spartans have decided to send an offer to the recently uncommitted prospect, in the hopes that they can make some ground in his recruitment. Tucker is not expected to take any unofficial visits, but he is expected to take all of his official visits. Although Tucker is not committed to USC, the Trojans are still going to pursue him and still have a strong chance of landing Tucker. I bet Tucker felt like he pulled the trigger too early, and we’ll see how many more major programs like Michigan State follow suit.
Casey Tucker currently has other offers from the Arizona State Sun Devils, Boise State Broncos, Michigan Wolverines, Arkansas Razorbacks, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Washington Huskies, Nebraska Cornshukers, Oregon State Beavers, and Oklahoma Sooners. Some of those programs are among the elites in the nation, and that just shows you just how touted this four-star OT is. Tucker checks in at number 67 in our FanSided 150 rankings, and he could very well be the best recruit in the state of Arizona.
The 6’6″, 270 pound star from Chandler, Arizona at the prestigious Hamilton High is one of the most athletic offensive tackles in the 2014 class, and his excellent frame listed above gives him great length. All of that paints the picture of an excellent pass blocker, and that’s exactly what Tucker is. He just might be the best pass blocker in the entire class, and he is also regarded as one of the top five tackles in the 2014 class. Tucker may not be the strongest guy out there or the best run blocker, but he is decent in that regard and has the pass blocking ability to be a solid starting left tackle with good technique and the ability to stick with speedy edge rushers.
