According to his updated profile on Verbal Commits, 2014 three-star Alabama Crimson Tide small forward target Riley Norris was offered by the Butler Bulldogs today. Brad Stevens and Butler have now offered five small forwards in the class, with Trevon Bluiett being the headliner. Norris, who stars for Albertville School in Albertville, Alabama, is one of the top 50 small forward prospects in the nation and is reportedly leaning towards the in-state school.
Norris has also received offers from the Auburn Tigers, Arkansas Razorbacks, Belmont, Georgia Southern, UAB, Louisiana-Lafayette, Mercer, the Mississippi Rebels, and the Mississippi State Bulldogs. Several other major programs like the Tennessee Volunteers and Georgia Bulldogs have shown interest as well, and some outlets have reported that Georgia offered Norris.
The 6’7″, 180 pound SF was offered by Alabama on an unofficial visit in February, and he had a busy late winter with other visits to Belmont, the Clemson Tigers, and in-state rival Auburn.
Norris averaged 23 points per game and 12 rebounds per game last season, and he is held in high regard for his frame and off-the-charts intangibles. The 175th-ranked recruit in the 247Composite is arguably one of the best five recruits in the state of Alabama, and he he needs to work on his handles and become more well-developed as a whole. Norris is an excellent shooter, a proficient all-around scorer, and he can score in just about any way due to his great combination of length and athleticism.
Verbal Commits also reports offers from the Florida Gators, Vanderbilt Commodores, Tennessee Volunteers, Stanford Cardinal, Oklahoma Sooners, Clemson Tigers, and Wright State.
