The Duke Blue Devils were busy offering top talent in the 2015 recruiting class, as Duke also decided to extend an offer to elite defensive tackle prospect CeCe Jefferson. A fast riser from Baker County Senior High in Florida, Jefferson is a national attraction and a reported Alabama Crimson Tide lean. In addition to heavy interest in Alabama, Jefferson also likes two in-state powers in the Florida State Seminoles and Florida Gators, and he also likes the Louisville Cardinals. Per his timeline on 247Sports, Jefferson is “warm” on a storied Pac-12 program in the USC Trojans, but USC has yet to offer Jefferson- they really should.
CeCe Jefferson has also been offered by the Auburn Tigers, Clemson Tigers, Miami Hurricanes, Tennessee Volunteers, UCLA Bruins. USF Bulls, South Carolina Gamecocks, Mississippi Rebels, Ohio State Buckeyes, North Carolina Tar Heels, Arkansas Razorbacks, and Mississippi State Bulldogs. Those are some huge offers, and I expect more offers to start popping up, with USC being a close school to watch going forward in Jefferson’s recruitment.
It seems like Alabama loves Jefferson, as they have both Lance Thompson and Chris Rumph recruiting the supremely talented defensive tackle, and the reigning back-to-back national champs are certainly in a great position. Jefferson is 6’2″, 250 pounds and looks to have the eye of the Tide, but it is a foregone conclusion to think that Alabama will land him. They have very stiff competition, especially when it comes to FSU and UF. The two storied in-state programs are high on his list, and Gerry Hamilton is picking the Florida Gators as the top-flight program to land Jefferson.
Last season, CeCe Jefferson was responsible for 15 sacks.
