Former Green Bay Packers star cornerback Al Harris has a son who is also a cornerback, and he’s a pretty talented player in his own right as a three-star CB at the very prestigious St. Thomas Aquinas. Harris received yet another big offer in his recruitment today from the Wisconsin Badgers, but the two schools that reportedly stand out the most to Harris are the South Carolina Gamecocks and an in-state power in the Florida State Seminoles.
Harris has also received offers from the Cincinnati Bearcats, Duke Blue Devils, UCLA Bruins, Pittsburgh Panthers, Louisville Cardinals, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Penn State Nittany Lions, Purdue Boilermakers, and Rutgers Scarlet Knights. He has also received interest from other major schools such as the Arkansas Razorbacks, and I could see Harris picking up some more SEC offers. Although he isn’t a highly rated prospect, Harris has a great pedigree and has caught the eye of a few big programs.
The 5’11″, 160 pound standout from Fort Lauderdale is one of the top 900 prospects in the 247Composite, and Harris is nestled in as one of the top 120 recruits in the state of Florida. The 247Composite also rates Harris as the 66th-best cornerback in the nation, and today’s offer from Wisconsin is just the most recent notable offer to come through this month for Harris. The three-star CB was also offered by UCLA, Duke, and Georgia Tech this month.
