Today, the Kansas Jayhawks extended an offer to a two-star in-state inside linebacker in Blue Valley High star Henry McGrew. He is reportedly high on the in-state program, and he is looking for offers from one of Kansas’s bitter rivals in the Missouri Tigers and a Big Ten power in the Nebraska Cornhuskers. Offers from those two programs could really shake things up in McGrew’s recruitment early on, but, for now, Kansas looks like the biggest offer for McGrew.
He has also received an from the Illinois Fighting Illini, as well as interest from major programs in the Kansas State Wildcats, Iowa Hawkeyes, Mississippi Rebels, Iowa State Cyclones, and Oklahoma State Cowboys. The Florida Gators also showed interest, but 247Sports reports that Florida has been eliminated by McGrew.
The consensus 13th-best recruit in the state of Kansas, McGrew is 6’3″, 227 pounds and has consistently been one of the best defensive players in the state. McGrew is not an athletic player by any means, but he plays smart and has good size. It is interesting to see all the interest in the two-star ILB, and I think Missouri ends up offering at some point soon.
Kansas’s offer is truly a big one for McGrew, and he attended junior days with his top three schools in Kansas, Nebraska, and Missouri. Last month, McGrew took visits to Illinois, Missouri, and Nebraska.
