2014 defensive back/running back Nick Ruffin verbally committed to the Auburn Tigers after officially visiting them on Saturday. Ruffin is just outside the Top 10 among cornerbacks and recruits in the state of Georgia. He is also ranked 156th among all 2014 recruits in the 247 Sports Football Rankings.
The other teams that offered at Ruffin, but did not get his commitment were the Alabama Crimson Tide, Arkansas Razorbacks, Connecticut Huskies, Duke Blue Devils, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Illinois Fighting Illini, Kansas State Wildcats, Kentucky Wildcats, Louisiana-Lafayette Ragin’ Cajuns, LSU Tigers, Michigan State Spartans, Mississippi State Bulldogs, North Carolina State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, Ohio State Buckeyes, Ole Miss Rebels, Purdue Boilermakers, South Carolina Gamecocks, Syracuse Orange, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Wisconsin Badgers.
It should be no surprise that the four-star recruit chose to commit to Auburn.
The 247 Sports Crystal Ball had the Tigers as the 100% predicted spot to land the 2014 recruit.
When looking at his skills, Ruffin’s top three have to be his tackling, reactive quickness, and instincts. He has the ability of knowing what to do at all times on the field. He also has very nice speed as a defensive back and/or blocking kicks.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 13th in the state of Georgia, 12th among cornerbacks, and 154th among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
