The Indiana Hoosiers have been handing out several offers recently, and they decided to offer a Louisville Cardinals target today in three-star Hollywood, Florida safety Andre Godfrey. Indiana’s offer is Godfrey’s second Big Ten offer of the month, as he received an offer from the Wisconsin Badgers about a week ago. He’s been pretty busy recently with an offer from the Cincinnati Bearcats on the same day that Wisconsin offered, and he was actually offered in person by Chris Beatty and the Badgers.
Godfrey also has offers from the Boston College Eagles, Kentucky Wildcats, South Florida Bulls, UCLA Bruins, West Virginia Mountaineers, Washington State Cougars, and Utah Utes. In addition, Mario Cristobal is reportedly recruiting Godfrey to the Alabama Crimson Tide, and it would certainly be huge for Godfrey to nab an offer from ‘Bama.
Louisville looks to be in a great position early on for the 6’1″, 180 pound Miramar star safety, who is ranked by the 247Composite as the 55th-best player at the position in the 2014 class. Godfrey is one of the top 100 recruits in the state of Florida, and the 247Composite has him as the 678th-best prospect in the state.
Last season, Godfrey recorded 83 tackles and four interceptions and is a solid tackler with playmaking ability that should bode well at the strong safety position in college. It will be interesting to see how much of a factor recent offers from the Hoosiers and Badgers are, and I expect Wisconsin to have a significant pull in Godfrey’s recruitment; WVU should also be able to make some noise. At this point, it is still early in the process for Godfrey.
