Georgia Football Recruiting: Bulldogs Host Lorenzo Carter

The Georgia Bulldogs are just one of seven SEC teams that are receiving heavy interest from 2014 weak-side defensive end Lorenzo Carter, and they hosted the very athletic Norcross, Georgia prospect on an unofficial visit on June 1st. Carter is the 3rd overall recruit on the Fansided150 Class of 2014 Football Rankings and is heavily interested in twelve teams, but is a Bama lean.

The twelve teams who have offered at Carter and have his interest are the Alabama Crimson Tide, Auburn Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Yellow Jackets, Miami Hurricanes, Mississippi State Bulldogs, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, South Carolina Gamecocks, USC Trojans, and Vanderbilt Commodores.

Lorenzo Carter is one of the most athletic prospects in the Class of 2014. 247 Sports’ Director of Recruiting JC Shurburtt has been on the record describing him as a “freak” and saying that Carter is “the closest thing to South Carolina’s Jadeveon Clowney” in the Class of 2014.

The Norcross, Georgia native might be a Bama lean and might be interested in several SEC schools, but the biggest team to watch during Carter’s recruitment will be Auburn.

If the Tigers for any reason think that the most athletic 2014 prospect is interested in their biggest in-state rival, one can be sure that they will try and “send the house” to make sure that does not happen.

Carter ran a 4.60 40 yard dash and posted 40 inch vertical jump and invited to Nike’s The Opening. Also, he recorded 136 total tackles, 45 tackles-for-loss, and eighteen sacks last season.

The five-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of Georgia, 1st among weak-side defensive ends, and 3rd nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
