Illinois Football Recruiting: Reese Ryan gets Illini offer

2015 quarterback Reese Ryan nabbed his second offer yesterday, as the Illinois Fighting Illini came away impressed with Ryan’s performance at camp. Illini Playbook’s Fletcher Page reported the offer yesterday , and it is a big one for the Lexington, Kentucky signal-caller. Ryan’s other offer comes from the in-state Louisville Cardinals, and, since I am a sucker for stuff like this, it’s interesting to see Louisville and Illinois going at it again (for now, other teams will join) for a quarterback from one of the states that those schools reside in.

Ryan has made several camp visits this summer, and he will continue to attract suitors and add more offers. He has camped with the Florida Gators, Vanderbilt Commodores, Marshall, and Louisville, and he has also received interest from the Duke Blue Devils and Tennessee Volunteers. It will be interesting to see how soon he starts to add major offers, because he certainly has the talent and showed it to the Illinois staff.

The 6’2″, 180 pound Lexington Catholic standout is one of three quarterbacks to be offered by the Illini in the 2015 class, and I am especially intrigued by 6’6″, 185 pound QB Jack Beneventi who hails from the state of Illinois. The Illini are competing with big offers from the likes of Iowa and Notre Dame, and another 6’6″ in-state QB in David Edwards is worth watching (he has offers from Illinois and Vanderbilt).
