2014 three-star Fairfield, Ohio offensive tackle Danny Burns is taking an unofficial visit to check out the Louisville Cardinals today, according to 247Sports. Burns is high on Louisville and the Michigan State Spartans, Pittsburgh Panthers, West Virginia Mountaineers, Nebraska Cornhuskers, and Ohio State Buckeyes. That coveted Ohio State offer still hasn’t come yet, but I wonder if Burns came close after camping with the big in-state program earlier this month. If Ohio State offers, then that would be a game-changer for Burns, even amidst several large offers.
Burns has great size at 6’8″, 320 pounds, and he also runs a 5.40 forty. The Fairfield High star is ranked by the 247Composite as the 44th-best recruit in the state of Ohio, the 57th-best offensive tackle in the country, and the 759th-best prospect overall. All of the major offers suggest that Burns deserves a solid three-star ranking, but the focus on offers is now whether or not Ohio State will be the next to pull the trigger.
Louisville previously hosted Danny Burns in early April, and we’ll see if the Cardinals will make the stronger push this time around and elevate their stock. Vanderbilt and Michigan State also recently played host to Burns, with the Spartans offering him in late May on that visit. It’s a tight recruiting battle for Burns right now, and we’ll see what comes of today’s visit to Louisville.
