Penn State Football Recruiting: Troy Vincent Picks Nittany Lions

During an unofficial visit, 2014 cornerback Troy Vincent decided to give his verbal commitment to the Penn State Nittany Lions on Wednesday. Vincent is a three-star recruit and is ranked as one of the Top 15 recruits in the state of Maryland.

Penn State now has twelve commitments from the Class of 2014 with Vincent being the 3rd defensive back to commit to them.

The other teams that offered at Vincent, but did not get his commitment were the Arizona State Sun Devils, California Golden Bears, Illinois Fighting Illini, Indiana Hoosiers, Maryland Terrapins, Michigan Wolverines, Michigan State Spartans, North Carolina State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, Virginia Cavaliers, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Wisconsin Badgers.

Troy Vincent’s commitment to the Nittany Lions is a big one because five other Big Ten teams (six if you count Maryland, technically) were pursuing his services.

Vincent contains speed and is an exceptional tackler, but above all his best skills are his ball skills and instincts (two of the most important skills with CBs).

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 11th in the state of Maryland and 41st among cornerbacks by 247Sports.
