Football Recruiting: Keller Chryst Commits to the Stanford Cardinal

In a month where we saw three out of the Top 5 pro-style quarterbacks make their verbal commitments, the 2nd best pro-style quarterback followed suit as 2014 five-star quarterback Keller Chryst made the call and committed to the Stanford Cardinal. While being the 2nd ranked pro-style quarterback from the Class of 2014, Chryst is also ranked 21st on the Fansided150 Class for 2014 Football Recruiting Rankings.

The other teams that offered at Chryst, but did not get his commitment were the Arizona Wildcats, Georgia Bulldogs, Pittsburgh Panthers, and USC Trojans.

It seemed as a no-brainer that Keller Chryst would end up picking Stanford. The 247 Sports Crystal Ball had the Cardinal as the 100% predicted spot to land the 2014 recruit.

The Palo Alto, California native is a well-rounded quarterback with a ton of skills, but none more important than his accuracy, delivery, and intangibles. However, he will need to definitely work on his feet and reactive quickness at the next level.

It should be very interesting to see how Stanford’s David Shaw works with Chryst in the upcoming years. Shaw has worked with some nice quarterbacks at Stanford and Keller Chryst could end up being one of the next Stanford greats.

The five-star recruit is currently ranked 3rd in the state of California, 2nd among pro-style quarterbacks, and 26th among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
