The TCU Horned Frogs extended an offer to one of the top prospects in the state of Texas in 2014 cornerback Arrion Springs. Springs has received some attention from the Big 12 as the Horned Frogs are the eighth Big 12 team to offer at him.
So far, the top 10 Texas prospect has received notable offers from the Oregon Ducks, Texas Longhorns, Arizona Wildcats, Baylor Bears, Florida State Seminoles, Clemson Tigers, Iowa State Cyclones, Kansas Jayhawks, Miami Hurricanes, Michigan State Spartans, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, Oklahoma Sooners, Oklahoma State Cowboys, Ole Miss Rebels, Tennessee Volunteers, and Washington Huskies.
Arrion Springs would be a huge catch for the in-state schools (Texas, Texas Tech, TCU, and Baylor). Right now, the only in-state school to have Spring’s heavy interest is the Texas Longhorns. The only school ahead of Texas in the recruitment of Springs is the Oregon Ducks.
Springs is a top 10 cornerback with a number of skills. He has good length, speed, instincts, and can effectively change directions. All of his other skills are not as good as those four, but there seems to be no glaring weaknesses when it comes to this top 10 CB.
As a junior in 2012, Springs recorded 63 tackles, one sack, four interceptions, and one fumble recovery. He also ran a 4.46 forty, 4.12 shuttle & posted a 34-inch vertical at the Nike SPARQ Combine in Houston on February 23rd.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 9th in the state of Texas, 8th among cornerbacks, and 84th nationally among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
