The Syracuse Orange landed a solid wide receiver/safety from the class of 2014 on Sunday as K.J. Williams gave the Orange his verbal commitment. Williams became the eighth commitment from the Class of 2014 for Syracuse. He is also the best recruit from the state of Pennsylvania.
The Orange weren’t fully expected to land the Pennsylvania recruit, but were still the favorite.
Twelve of the fifteen recruiting experts on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball picked Syracuse to land K.J. Williams.
The Orange received his commitment over other offers from the Arizona Wildcats, Connecticut Huskies, Michigan Wolverines, Missouri Tigers, Pittsburgh Panthers, Rutgers Rutgers, South Carolina Gamecocks, UCLA Bruins, Vanderbilt Commodores, and Wisconsin Badgers.
Williams is a very versatile player who can play both on offense and defense. He contains very good size, ball skills, and intangibles for a safety or WR. He’s also very athletic, but is not the most explosive recruit from the 2014 class.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of Pennsylvania, 11th among athletes, and 166th among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
