On Wednesday, the Memphis Tigers extended an offer to one of the top prospects in the state of Arkansas, 2014 wide receiver/cornerback Deandre Murray. Murray is the fourth best recruit from the state of Arkansas and is ranked 311th in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
So far, Deandre Murray has received notable offers from the Arkansas State Red Wolves, Illinois State Redbirds, Tulsa Golden Hurricane, and UAB Blazers. Although he hasn’t received an offer from them, Murray is currently high on the Arkansas Razorbacks.
However, many recruiting experts are predicting that the Arkansas native will stay at home.
The 247 Sports Crystal Ball currently has the Arkansas Razorbacks as the 100% predicted spot to land the 2014 recruit.
Murray’s biggest skills as a recruit are his speed and athleticism. His only major weakness is his size.
At 5’11″, Murray doesn’t show the “ideal” height that many big programs look for in CBs, but he could still be an effective WR. Deandre Murray could be a quality option at the wide receiver position if he is able to work on his ball skills at the next level.
He already has the first part down and that is speed. They always say that speed kills in college football and that is Murray’s #1 strength.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 4th in the state of Arkansas and 41st among athletes by 247Sports.
