2014 safety D’Cota Dixon received an offer from the Michigan State Spartans on Wednesday. Dixon has received some attention from the Big Ten as the Spartans are the fourth Big Ten team to offer at him.
Dixon is also on the radars of the South Florida Bulls, Arkansas Razorbacks, Auburn Tigers, Ball State Cardinals, Cincinnati Bearcats, Illinois Fighting Illini, Louisville Cardinals, Marshall Thundering Herd, Massachusetts Minutemen, North Carolina State Wolfpack, North Carolina Tar Heels, Purdue Boilermakers, Central Florida Knights, Vanderbilt Commodores, and West Virginia Mountaineers.
D’Cota Dixon would be a huge catch for any of the four Big Ten teams to extend him an offer. The Spartans should have no problem gaining ground on Illinois, Purdue, and Wisconsin, but the team they will need to worry about is South Florida. This is because the Bulls seem to be towards the head of the pack for the New Smyrna Beach, Florida native.
Although he doesn’t have the best size and/or frame, one thing D’Cota Dixon does have is instincts. He is also a playmaker who contains decent ball skills, tackling, and closing speed.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 161st in the state of Florida and 107th among safeties by 247Sports.
