For the second time in three days, 2015 outside linebacker Malik Jefferson was in Waco, Texas on Sunday for an unofficial visit with the Baylor Bears. The top 10 Texas recruit is on the early radars of the Texas Longhorns, Ohio State Buckeyes, Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, and Texas A&M Aggies.
Although he’s from the Class of 2015, Sunday’s visit was a very important one for the Bears. This is because Baylor is just one of three Big 12 teams that have major interest from Jefferson.
Right now, Texas seems to be the hot spot among the experts as the 247 Sports Crystal Ball has the Longhorns as the predicted landing spot for the Texas native.
The Baylor Bears need to make a strong pitch if they want a chance of landing Malik Jefferson in the future because they cannot afford him to commit to Texas. We’ll see if they can make big progress with one of the top recruits in the state of Texas.
In 2012, Jefferson recorded 105 tackles, 24 tackles for loss, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, and three fumble recoveries.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 7th in the state of Texas, 5th among outside linebackers, and 47th among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
