Auburn Football Recruiting: Tigers Host Arthur Williams

Although he doesn’t have an offer from them, that didn’t stop 2014 defensive tackle/offensive tackle Arthur Williams from unofficially visiting the Auburn Tigers on Monday. The top 50 North Carolina prospect might not have a ton of offers from major conference schools, but he has received interest from a few.

At this moment, the major conference schools receiving interest from Williams are the Florida State Seminoles, Miami Hurricanes, Auburn Tigers, and Clemson Tigers. The schools to have offered at him are Florida State, Miami, and East Carolina.

Right now, East Carolina seems to be the hot spot among the experts as the 247 Sports Crystal Ball has the Pirates as the predicted landing spot for the North Carolina native.

However, things should get real interesting if Auburn decides to extend an offer out to him.

Arthur Williams might not be one of the top-end defensive tackles from the 2014 class like Andrew Brown or Matt Elam, but he could be a quality DT in college with the right coaching and development.

At 6’4″, 280 pounds, he has the size like a top-end DT, but needs some development with his other skills. He has a decent strength and motor, and needs to work on his hand quickness, first step, and point of attack.

The two-star recruit is currently ranked 44th in the state of North Carolina and 104th among defensive tackles by 247Sports.
