The Nebraska Cornhuskers extended an offer to one of the top defensive tackles from the Class of 2014 in three-star DT Chris Nelson on Monday. Nelson is ranked 831st in the 247 Sports Composite Rankings.
So far, Nelson has received notable offers from the Virginia Cavaliers, Louisville Cardinals, South Florida Bulls, Connecticut Huskies, Duke Blue Devils, Iowa Hawkeyes, Kentucky Wildcats, Missouri Tigers, North Carolina State Wolfpack, Pittsburgh Panthers, Purdue Boilermakers, and Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Right now, it is projected that the Lakeland, FL native is heavily interested in Virginia, South Florida, and Louisville with his most interest being in the Cavaliers.
Nelson is a very athletic tackle and display pretty good ability when it comes to his first step, closing speed, pursuit, and hand quickness.
Also, at 6’2″, 295 pound, he has the size and frame that could thrive at the college level.
The only thing that Chris Nelson would need to work on in college would be what to do at the point of attack. Besides from that, he would be a nice pickup for any major conference team.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 113th in the state of Florida and 56th among defensive tackles by 247Sports.
