After unofficially visiting them on July 17th, 2014 outside linebacker Christian Miller chose to give the Alabama Crimson Tide his verbal commitment on Thursday. Miller is among the top 5 outside linebackers from the 2014 class and is ranked 63rd on the FanSided150 Class of 2014 Football Rankings.
The other teams that offered at Miller, but did not get his commitment were the Boise State Broncos, Clemson Tigers, Florida Gators, Florida State Seminoles, Georgia Bulldogs, Georgia Tech Bulldogs, Houston Cougars, Mississippi State Bulldogs, North Carolina Tar Heels, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas Tech Red Raiders, UCLA Bruins, and Virginia Tech Hokies.
It should come as no surprise to most people that Christian Miller would decided to play for Nick Saban and the Alabama Crimson Tide because 11 out of the 18 recruiting experts on 247Sports’ Crystal Ball picked the Crimson Tide to gain his commitment.
The Columbia, SC native is a solid pickup for Bama at the linebacker position. He’s an athletic linebacker with an amazing frame who can move well laterally and contains great instincts and pursuit skills. However, he will need to fine tune his tackling ability and will need to learn how to better play in space.
Miller’s commitment is No. 16 overall for the Crimson Tide and moves their class to 1st overall in the 247 Sports class rankings. Bama’s class also ranks 4th in the nation, according to Rivals.com.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 2nd in the state of South Carolina, 3rd among outside linebackers, and 40th among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
