After decommitting from the UCLA Bruins on two days ago, 2014 offensive tackle Jermaine Eluemunor gave his verbal commitment to the Arkansas Razorbacks on Friday. Eluemunor has been one of the more highly-coveted JUCO recruits from the Class of 2014, and is the top ranked JUCO offensive tackle by 247Sports.
The other teams that offered at Eluemunor, but did not get his commitment were the UCLA Bruins (decommitted from on July 24th), Ohio State Buckeyes, Alabama Crimson Tide, Arizona State Sun Devils, Baylor Bears, East Carolina Pirates, Florida State Seminoles, Kansas State Wildcats, Nebraska Cornhuskers, Oklahoma Sooners, Ole Miss Rebels, Penn State Nittany Lions, Tennessee Volunteers, Texas A&M Aggies, Texas Tech Red Raiders, West Virginia Mountaineers, and Wisconsin Badgers.
It should come as no surprise to most people that Jermaine Eluemunor chose to commit to Arkansas after decommitting from UCLA because 24 out of the 27 recruiting experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball picked the Razorbacks to gain his commitment.
According to 247Sports, Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema played a huge role in Eluemunor’s commitment. The Scranton, PA native said:
“Truthfully, I knew I was going to play for Coach Bielema. When he was at Wisconsin I wanted to go to Wisconsin. Then he went to Arkansas. I talked to my coach at Lackawanna and he said ‘how about Arkansas and Coach Bielema?’ I said I will think about it, I wasn’t sure. I went down there and confirmed everything. Having Coach (Sam) Pittman is a bonus.”
Eluemunor’s commitment is No. 13 overall for the Razorbacks and moves their class to 25th overall in the 247 Sports class rankings. Arkansas’ class also ranks 33rd in the nation, according to Rivals.com.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of Pennsylvania, 1st among offensive tackles, and 2nd among 2014 JUCO recruits by 247Sports.
