Florida Football Recruiting: Gators Host Richard Yeargin III

On Friday, 2014 outside linebacker Richard Yeargin III made the trip to Gainesville to unofficially visit the Florida Gators for Friday Night Lights. Yeargin is among the top 40 Florida recruits from the 2014 class and is ranked 243rd on the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

So far, Yeargin has received a lot of notable offers, but is heavily interested in the Florida Gators, Clemson Tigers, Michigan Wolverines, Notre Dame Fighting Irish, and Tennessee Volunteers.

Right now, Notre Dame seems to be the favorite among the recruiting experts because all 18 experts on the 247 Sports Crystal Ball has the Fighting Irish as the predicted landing spot for the Florida native.

Richard Yeargin III would be a quality pickup for any major college program. At 6’4″, 225 pounds, he displays a great frame and also is very quick.

At The Opening on July 1st, Yeargin ran a 4.98 40 and 4.44 shuttle during SPARQ testing.

Also, he shows pretty good skills in his tackling, athleticism, and lateral movement. However, he doesn’t have the best instincts on the field and that is his only weak spot in his game.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 37th in the state of Florida and 33rd among outside linebackers by 247Sports.
