The Stanford Cardinal hosted the 3rd best prospect from the Class of 2015 as five-star pro-style quarterback Ricky Town attended their Junior Day on Saturday. Town is ranked as the best prospect from the state of California from the 2015 football class.
So far, Ventura, CA native has received notable offers from the Alabama Crimson Tide, Texas Longhorns, Georgia Bulldogs, Miami Hurricanes, UCLA Bruins, USC Trojans, Arizona State Sun Devils, and Florida State Seminoles.
However, its projected that Town’s unofficial “Top 6″ are Alabama, Georgia, Texas, Miami, USC, and UCLA, but it seems as if the Crimson Tide, Bulldogs, and Longhorns are at the head of the pack.
Some of the recruiting experts are making early predictions for the young pro-style quarterback to give his verbal commitment to Alabama or Georgia.
Town shows a lot of positives in his game, but also has some areas that could be improved upon.
By far, his best skill is his intangibles on the football field, and he also has excellent accuracy, delivery, feet, and pocket presence.
The only places where he could use some improvement would be his arm strength and reactive quickness.
This weekend’s visit is an important one for Stanford. At this moment, they have not offered at Ricky Town, but could play a role in stealing the California native at some point. Also, Town is exactly the kind of quarterback that head coach David Shaw wants running his offensive (just look at the Andrew Luck year in 2011).
The five-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of California, 1st among pro-style quarterbacks, and 3rd nationally among 2015 high school recruits by 247Sports.
