West Virginia Football Recruiting: Braxton Berrios Visits Mountaineers

Just one day after receiving a key offer from Ohio State, 2014 athlete Braxton Berrios was in Morgantown for an unofficial visit with the West Virginia Mountaineers on Saturday. Berrios is among the top 25 athletes from the 2014 class and is ranked 369th on the 247Sports Composite Rankings.

So far, the Raleigh, NC native has received a ton of notable offers, but is heavily interested in the Kentucky Wildcats, Miami Hurricanes, Ohio State Buckeyes, South Carolina Gamecocks, Tennessee Volunteers, and West Virginia Mountaineers.

Saturday’s visit was big for WVU due to the fact that many are predicting Berrios to give his verbal to someone other than the Mountaineers. The three favorites among the recruiting experts are Kentucky, Miami, and OSU.

The Hurricanes are the overall favorite as 17 out of the 28 recruiting experts on the 247 Sports Crystal Ball have Berrios committing to Miami.

At 5’8″, 170 pounds, Braxton Berrios does not show the best size when it comes to wide receivers and running backs. Although, he is very athletic and shows great intangibles on the field. He also contains amazing ball skills and can change directions effectively.

Besides from his size, Berrios’ only weaknesses on the football field are his explosiveness and his versatility.

The four-star recruit is currently ranked 11th in the state of North Carolina and 22nd among athletes by 247Sports.
