Head Coach Jimbo Fisher and the Florida State Seminoles continued their dominance on the 2014 recruiting trail Monday afternoon as they landed defensive tackle Adam Torres.
The 6-4, 265 pound interior defensive lineman is rated as a three-star prospect, according to the 247Sports composite rankings, and chose the Seminoles over Florida International, Louisville and Georgia Tech, among others.
The Florida native becomes the fourth defensive tackle commit in the class of 2014 joining fellow defensive lineman Dexter Wideman, Demarcus Christmas and Fredrick Jones. Torres visited the Seminoles this past weekend and decided to pull the trigger and follow in the footsteps of many great defensive line players in Tallahassee. With Torres’ size and frame, he has the ability to also bump out and play defensive end, much like former Seminole Bjoern Weorner, due to his excellent athleticism.
With the commitment of Torres, Florida State now has the No. 2 overall class in the nation for 2014, according to the 247Sports rankings. Of the 23 total commitments for the Seminoles, 12 are of at least four-star status.
