South Carolina Basketball Recruiting: Marcus Stroman Re-Commits to Gamecocks

After decommitting from them a few days earlier, 2014 point guard Marcus Stroman re-committed to the South Carolina Gamecocks on Thursday. Not only is he one of the top 150 prospects in the nation, but he is the best ranked recruit from the state of South Carolina.

The only other team to have offered at the Columbia, SC native is the Clemson Tigers.

Gamecock nation might not be very excited about this commitment due to the fact that Stroman has bolted from the Gamecocks once already.

Marcus Stroman is a very talented point guard as he shows great athleticism, and can defend, pass, ball handle, and penetrate to the hoop. At 6’1″, 165 pounds, he also has great size for the point guard position.

However, Stroman’s best overall skill has to be his leadership on the court. That is definitely something the Gamecocks can be excited about.

Stroman’s commitment brings South Carolina’s total back to one. The Gamecocks’ recruiting class is ranked 37th overall by 247Sports.

The three-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of South Carolina, 32nd among point guards, and 136th among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
