UCLA Football Recruiting: Bruins Land Antreal Allen

On Friday, 2014 cornerback Antreal Allen gave his verbal commitment to Jim Mora and the UCLA Bruins. Allen is a two-star recruit and is ranked as one of the Top 150 cornerbacks from the 2014 recruiting class.

The other teams that offered at the Auburn, AL native, but did not get his commitment were the Arizona Wildcats, Arkansas State Red Wolves, Army Black Knights, Chattanooga Mocs, Georgia Southern Eagles, Georgia State Panthers, Middle Tennessee State Blue Raiders, and Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

This commitment should come as a total surprise to the nation’s recruiting experts because they were predicting him to commit to either Arizona or Arkansas State.

Antreal Allen might not show the best length for a cornerback, but he can change directions well and contains pretty good speed (especially recovery speed).

He has decent instincts and ball skills. However, Allen will need to work on his tackling ability the most while playing for the Bruins in LA.

Allen’s commitment is No. 6 overall for the Bruins and moves their class to 78th overall in the 247 Sports class rankings.

The two-star recruit is currently ranked 53rd in the state of Alabama and 137th among cornerbacks by 247Sports.
