Arizona Basketball Recruiting: Cliff Alexander Visits Wildcats

2014 power forward Cliff Alexander is easily the most coveted recruit from not only the city of Chicago but from the entire state of Illinois as well. On Friday, the young power forward traveled from Chicago to Tucson, Arizona for an unofficial visit with the Arizona Wildcats.

So far, Alexander has received a ton of notable offers, but is only interested in the Kansas Jayhawks, Illinois Fighting Illini, Michigan State Spartans, Memphis Tigers, Arizona Wildcats, DePaul Blue Demons, Kentucky Wildcats, and Louisville Cardinals.

However, the teams receiving the most interest from the Chicago native are Kansas, Illinois, and Michigan State.

Right now, 82% of the recruiting experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball are predicting Alexander to commit to the Jayhawks with 7% each predicting both Illinois and MSU (4% predicting Kentucky).

It would be an understatement to say that the 3rd best 2014 recruit would be a huge pickup for any school. The best aspect of Alexander’s game is his rebounding, but he can also score from the low post as well.

He also contains great size and athleticism and using that to his advantage in the low post.

The only weak spots in his game are his passing, high post scoring, and his decent motor.

The five-star recruit is currently ranked 1st in the state of Illinois, 1st among power forwards, and 3rd among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
