The Stanford Cardinal extended an offer to one of the top strong-side defensive ends from the Class of 2014 in four-star DE Mekhi Brown. Brown is listed as the fourth best recruit both for the state of Georgia and defensive ends.
The Columbus, Georgia native committed to the Alabama Crimson Tide back in April, but that has stopped the offers from “rolling” in.
Since his commitment to Bama, five teams have extended an offer towards Brown. Those five teams include the Florida State Seminoles, Louisville Cardinals, Mississippi State Bulldogs, USC Trojans, and Stanford Cardinal.
If Mekhi Brown was to decommit from the Crimson Tide, it would be a pretty substantial loss for Nick Saban’s bunch.
Brown is an athletic defensive end who shows great size and has just as good of a frame. He’s not the best at the point of attack and lacks closing speed, but he has a good first step and great pursuit of the football.
The four-star recruit is currently ranked 4th in the state of Georgia, 4th among strong side defensive ends, and 28th among 2014 high school recruits by 247Sports.
