After officially visiting the campus this past weekend, 2014 offensive tackle Sam Jones decided to commit to the Arizona State Sun Devils on Tuesday. Not only is Jones one of the top 5 2014 Colorado recruits, but he is also one of the top 50 offensive tackles as well.
The other teams that offered at the Jones, but did not get his commitment were the Oregon Ducks, Arkansas Razorbacks, California Golden Bears, Colorado Buffaloes, Colorado State Rams, Kansas State Wildcats, Oregon State Beavers, and Wyoming Cowboys.
Jones’ decision to commit to ASU should come as a complete surprise to the experts because most of them had him giving his verbal to a different team in the Pac-12.
All of the five recruiting experts on the 247Sports Crystal Ball predicted that the Oregon Ducks would be the team to land the Littleton, Colorado OT.
Jones’ commitment is No. 17 overall for the Sun Devils and moves their class to 30th overall in the 247Sports class rankings.
The three-star recruit is currently ranked 3rd in the state of Colorado and 34th among offensive tackles by 247Sports.
